Biography
Jenny Ohlsson is a Swedish diplomat. Until October 2022 she served as the Swedish State Secretary for International Development Cooperation. Jenny has since 1997 been working for the Swedish Government, mostly at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and at the Prime Minister’s Office. In 2000-2002 she worked with the Living History project connected to Holocaust remembrance and education at the PM’s office, where she collaborated with Aegis Trust. After leaving the PM’s office her professional focus has been conflict areas in Africa, with a focus on the Horn of Africa and the Great Lakes region. In 2016 Jenny Ohlsson was appointed the first resident ambassador of Sweden to Rwanda, and this was her second posting to the country, having been posted in Kigali between 2007-2009 as political officer. After returning from Rwanda, she served as Swedish ambassador for the Global Goals, as well as Swedish ambassador for Migration and Refugee affairs. During her life Jenny has been active in different civil society organizations and a keen singer in choirs.
