Aegis is delighted that Raleigh, the famed British cycling brand which has been creating bikes in Nottingham for well over a century, has joined Nottingham City Council and others to sponsor a 100km cycling challenge for Aegis this month by providing the top prize for the draw which participants can enter by raising sponsorship.
The £1,250 Raleigh Revenio Carbon 1 (pictured) is a carbon fibre racer from Raleigh’s 2015 endurance range – perfectly designed to make a 100km ride a joy rather than a struggle. It will be the prize in a draw open to anyone raising over £500 in sponsorship for Aegis as a participant in this month’s Aegis Citycard Cycles 100km challenge.
The rules for participation are simple: undertake a 100km ride in one 24-hour period, anywhere in the World, any time this month. To take part, register for the challenge here and you will receive a free training and support pack to help with preparation and securing sponsorship for the ride.
The bike is not the only prize for participants, however. Anyone raising over £250 in sponsorship will automatically receive a free challenge cycling jersey and entry into a draw for a masterclass with Olympic cycling medallist Bryan Steel, who will lead an organised ride as part of the challenge on Sunday 28 September, starting and finishing at the UK’s National Holocaust Centre.
Challenge participants raising over £250 will also get a free ticket to the ‘Discovery Ball’, being held on Saturday 4 October in support of Aegis’ social enterprises, where Bryan Steel will draw and announce the prize winners.
